TEATRO REGIO TURINO
When I had the chance to photograph the Teatro Regio in Turin, I knew it was a special opportunity. With its rich history and Carlo Mollino’s striking modernist design, the theater is a singular architectural wonder. My desire was to capture the space's unique atmosphere, particularly how Mollino used light and shadow to create such a cinematic and sculptural feel. The challenge was to do justice to its grandeur while also highlighting intimate details, the rich red velvet and the beautiful, curving lines. My approach was to work in a way that respects both the architecture and the silence of the space, allowing the environment to speak for itself. Through my lens, I sought to distill the essence of the theater, focusing on its geometry and the subtle interplay of its textures. My goal was to reveal the poetry of this place, creating images that feel both monumental and personal and allowing the theater's own story to shine through.
